Updated 1-22-2008What's NewWow, it's been entirely too long since I updated this page! Lots of news... the forum is being completely reorganized. We're now focusing more on several states specifically -- California, Nevada, Utah and Montana specifically, though we have sections for all western states. Since those are the four states that we have the most experience with, it makes sense to focus on them. However, if somebody out there has extensive knowledge of other states, let us know and we can add a specific category for it. Due to my own schedule (work and family), I don't really plan on doing many organized rides like we used to in the past. I'm always looking for new people to ride with and new places to explore, but it's gotten to be very problematic to schedule specific organized rides without something cropping up at the last minute and shooting them down. If anybody else wants to take the reins on that, let me know. I'll go if I can. :) About UsWe are a group of adventurous individuals with ATVs who enjoy traversing vast distances and visiting remote locations. We are seeking others with similar interests, and have created this website to show what's out there for those with the burning desire to explore and challenge themselves. Our group is somewhat xenophobic in nature; we do not like crowds, and we go out of our way to avoid them -- far away from population centers. We are generally not interested in being a part of ATV Clubs, but we will support their efforts whenever possible, as we must all stick together if we are to keep public land open for public use. Our exploits are all completely legal; we do not ride in areas that are off-limits or closed to the motorized vehicles. We do, however, ride in some remote and technically challenging areas that are similar to, and in many cases much more challenging than, the famed Rubicon and Fordyce Trails... the key difference is that there is virtually no chance of anybody else happening by to help if something goes wrong. We must therefore rely on one another and our collective experience to ensure that our trips conclude safely. Joining UsThe key trait we look for in others is integrity. We welcome riders of all skill levels. If you ride with us, you will receive as much or as little attention/instruction as you desire or require. It is imperative that each member understands that when we are out exploring, everybody must stick together. If you have an interest in joining our group, please join our forum, and make a post, telling us a little about yourself. These adventures require a 4WD utility ATV, and the desire to put it to the test. Those new to ATVing are welcome; we will show you the ropes and help you build the skills needed to conquer most anything nature can throw at us. To see photos from our previous trips, please visit the Trips & Photos link. The photos are organized by who took the photos, so you would want to click on the link of the person's name whose photos you wish to view. Please note that these photos are from our trips when this group was in its original incarnation. Even though the founders have parted company, we feel they belong to this site, and for the time being they will remain. If you care about the details, please visit our History page for more information on how this group was formed and why we value such a high level of integriy. BTW, if you go to the Trips & Photos page and there are no trips listed, please contact me ASAP. Some members of our previous incarnation of this group are still upset that I began a new policy of full disclosure as to the places we ride, and keep hacking this site to remove the trip listings and the descriptions of where they took place. The Equipment page details the various items that we carry on our expeditions, and it also discusses the specifications of ATVs that we recommend for these types of adventures. The Links page is our page of links to people and companies that we like to do business with.
